XDBM is an XML Database Manager. It is an embedded database that you can include in your own software. The database is designed specifically to handle XML data. The XDBM API is based upon the DOM standard. The code is Open Sourced and Bowerbird Computing pays royalties to those free software developers who contribute time, code or support services to this project.

Carnegie Mellon University has just released Sphinx an Open Source speech recognition system.

XML-RPC, WDDX, SOAP and now the Blocks eXtensible eXchange Protocol. Each one seems to take a slightly different approach to the same problem. Cooperation between the different working groups would be nice.

While analyzing the logs for this site, I noticed that quite a few of Infolets' readers are using a katiesoft enhanced browser, so I decided to try it out for myself. It is an interesting way of browsing, probably a great tool for the active weblogger. Thank you readers for the tip.

Over the past few years the QNX Single Bootable Floppy Web Browser/Server has been a life saver. I keep mine together with my operating systems recovery disks. Don’t leave home without it.
