An Xbeans is a Java Bean that takes XML as input, processes it in some fashion and then passes XML on to the next Xbean. There is a good article demonstrating the usefulness of Xbeans entitled Build distributed applications with Java and XML in this month's JavaWorld.

xmlBlaster is a publish/subscribe and point to point MOM server (message-oriented middleware) which exchanges XML-encoded messages between publishers and subscribers. The xmlBlaster server is written in pure Java, clients will be available in several languages.

XML files are typically much larger than the same data represented in some reasonably efficient domain-specific data format. Hence the need for XMill. XMill is a new tool for compressing XML data efficiently. It is based on a regrouping strategy that leverages the effect of highly-efficient compression techniques in compressors such as gzip. After evaluating several Open Source logfile analyzers I decided to use Analog. I have not been disappointed. I found Analog to be both fast, flexible and infinitely configurable. It is definitely worth a look the next time you're looking for logfile analysis software.
